O Come Let Us Adore Him [post #6]

… the word of God, that is, the mystery
which has been hidden from the past ages and generations,
but has now been manifested to His saints,
to whom God willed to make known
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles,
which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory.  Colossians 1:end of verse 25 through 27, NASB

Abba, I adore you and your Son, my sweet Savior, my Prince and my Lord. Thank you for sending Jesus as a baby, and revealing the mystery… Christ in me. Wow. How amazing. Thank you for the assured hope we have in Christ Jesus. I celebrate the wonders of His love – His life, and His blood. You are so good to me. In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him [post #5]

And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death,
in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and
not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard,
which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven… Colossians 1:21-23, NASB

Abba, I know my sins are gone, but I still remember many of them. Thank you for that gift, so that I can remember what you’ve done for me. Thank you for bring me close to you through Jesus, AND for the promise that I will be presented before you one day, HOLY, BLAMELESS, without reproach. Wow. Abba, I choose to worship you and your Son. In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him [post #4]

For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and
through Him to reconcile all things to Himself,
having made peace through the blood of His cross;
through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. Colossians 1:19-20, NASB

Abba, sometimes I forget that you have “emotions.” I tend to think of you as a distant, unfeeling being. I’m sorry! You took great pleasure in to fill Jesus with your Spirit and to sacrifice my Prince so that you could reconcile “all things” to Jesus. I don’t yet fully understand, but I’m grateful that Jesus’ blood has covered me, so that I can be in full relationship with you. Oh, Abba. You are so merciful to me. In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him [post #3]

[For Jesus] is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
He is also head of the body, the church;
and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. Colossians 1:17-18, NASB

Oh, Abba! You sent such a defenseless baby to earth, and entrusting 2 simple people to raise him. Yet, He was before everything, the firstborn of creation. My Savior, my Prince, holds everything together – EVEN ME on the most frustrating of days. Oh, Abba. I adore you. I adore Jesus. May Jesus be first in my heart on earth – as he will be when he returns for me. Thank you for this knowledge! Help me to remember and walk in truth.  In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him [post #2]

[For Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16, NASB

Abba, I can’t help but adore your Son. You’ve chosen to create through Him and – since we cannot see your face – have given us Him to understand more of who you are. You are so loving, patient, gentle, humble, and kind. Thank you for sending Jesus to earth as a baby, so you can be close to me. Your perfect love is so amazing! In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him [post # 1]

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness,
and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14, NASB

Abba, when I truly ponder your incredible rescue mission [to save me from the evil kingdom and give me permanent citizenship in the kingdom led by my Prince] I am filled with wonder. Thank you for saving me from sin and death. Thank you for cleansing me from sin and giving me hope. You are so good to me. In Jesus’ name…

O Come Let Us Adore Him! [Introduction]

The next few days, I wanted to focus on part of Colossians 1, as we're all preparing our hearts to celebrate Jesus' birth. I'll simply be posting some verses and a simple prayer, to be used as a springboard of worship as a precious time between you and your kind Abba, who loves you SO INCREDIBLY MUCH! Celebrate. Worship. Sing or quietly sit in peace as you reflect on His goodness toward you through Jesus, our Savior.
