Prince Jesus enters the scene, stating his intentions to fight on behalf of Peasant against his cruel oppressor.
Ahhh… [sighs of relief throughout the countryside]
But wait… Peasant starts to feel ashamed. What if the Prince needs his help? (Surely he’s not thinking logically here.) Acting before thinking this through, the peasant picks up his own sword and jumps in the fight to help the Prince.
Prince’s job of defeating Dark Knight just became more difficult, didn’t it?
Yes, our Prince is mightier than all others and will – and has – conquered the Dark Knight.
Still, I wonder how often I, Peasant, jump in where I shouldn’t? I jump into battles (as if HE needs my help or wisdom!) I ought to not be in the middle of instead of simply praying and trusting Prince Jesus. I try to fight battles I’m not meant to fight. I try to force dreams to come true. SIGH…
Abba God, I’m once again humbled before You. Amazed that You choose to make me more than a Peasant. I’m now your child, and You are my King. Grant me wisdom to know when and how to fight. Teach me to abide in Jesus and to trust You to complete me through the trials I face. Give me courage to simply abide and pray instead of running ahead of You with a dingy flyswatter that wouldn't even kill a fly. Remind me how powerful You are - and help me understand what You DO want me to do. In Jesus' name... Yes, our Prince is mightier than all others and will – and has – conquered the Dark Knight.
