Proclaim His excellencies!

This morning, I was reminded of Haman (you know, the bad guy in Queen Esther’s story). Do you remember
how Haman had to dress Mordecai (the good guy) in a royal robe, then lead him on the king’s horse through the city square proclaiming the king’s honor for him? Much to Haman’s humiliation… You see, proclaiming isn’t a quiet act. It’s an announcement!
I know we’ve been reading through this verse for many days, but please bear with me. I believe The Lord wants us to soak in His truth… to take the time to meditate on His Word. We’re almost done, honest!
Take a moment to REMEMBER who you are in Christ, as you reread this verse:
“But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION…
so that… you may… proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; …
for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.” --1 Peter 2:9-10 NASB, NLT, Message.
Do you see how great a privilege we are given? And now, a duty… to announce what He’s done for us.
·         We did not have a place, a home… Now we do have a place, a home…
·         We were not part of a special people, who have great purpose. Now, we are part of a special people, who have great purpose.
·         We did not have mercy… Now we do have mercy.
Father, how good you are to us! Thank you for giving us a place to belong, a people to be a part of, for giving us great mercy. Let us be filled to overflowing with thankfulness. Open doors for us to proclaim your excellencies to others. We give thanks and praise to You! With much love, and in Jesus’ name…
