A PEOPLE FOR God’s
OWN POSSESSION…
Possession (in Greek) = preserving, saving. “That
which is acquired, presumably with considerably great effort.”
Your heavenly Father, has not only saved you from eternal separation from Him, but also has
made you His cherished possession. You are His treasury that He takes great
delight in. He is always guarding you and delighting in you, just as earthly kings
guard and enjoy their riches. He lovingly remembers you (um, constantly, in case you forgot.)
“But
you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the
excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous
light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you
had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.”

How do you finish
this sentence? I give thanks, because
God… I’d like to hear what you’re thankful for in the comments box below.
Abba, I’m so glad that Thanksgiving is one month before
we celebrate Christ’s birth. It reminds me to still my heart and reminiscence about
your faithfulness and great love, which leads me to worship out of a humble
heart. May my heart condition be acceptable to you, Papa. Thank you for preserving
me so that I can be with you forever. Thank you for the great lengths you went
to, just for me. I love you. In Jesus’
name…
